Le Beaujolais

The Beaujolais is a fresh, joyful wine that allows for early consumption after limited overall conservation ("Beaujolais Nouveau").
"Vins de Garde" rather, are conserved and vinted for longer. Their optimum consumption time varying from 2 to 5 years.

Best serving temperature is about 12°C, 50°F.

The Vines : 2 styles of pruning

  • goblet or short pruning allowing for less production but higher bodied wines
  • long pruning : the Guyot single pruning, used for lighter but fruity wines
